Greetings UR10CMPUSH,
I have used CPOE - Computerized Provider Order Entry as a clinician in both the home health and acute care settings. I have also been responsible for implementing CPOE in multiple hospitals. Attached are a few documents that should help and a link.

Related to CPOE utilized on a PDA the issue I have encountered has been a matter of realestate/ screen size. PDAs and the applications that run on them have less realestate to enter and view data on. A particular vendor's product may not run in the PDA enviroment but is compatible displaying on the screen of a laptop or standard sized monitor. User complaints that I have received in the past are that the screen is too small and or that they are not comfortable with the data entry methods (thumb type typing similiar to what is used to text message or the use of a stylet) utilized with PDAs. We recently rolled out CPOE in the ED and users chose not PDAs but a mix of tablets, swing arm monitors and stationary monitors.
Good Luck

WHAT ARE YOUR PHYSICIANS THOUGHTS ON THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY? HAVE YOU SEEN DECREASED MEDICATION ERRORS IN.? ANY INPUT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
