Happy Holidays Everyone!!

I have used PDAs for years and years now. I love the windows os. My first one was an IPAQ and now I have a Dell x30.

I am in Grad school (ANP) in addition to working full time on weekends and I have the portable keyboard (love it). That makes typing much faster. It is the size of my PDA.

A website I use quite often is www.medicalwizards.com- I have the ER/ICU toolbox and use it everyday at work. The drip calculator is so easy to use and so so helpful especially in a crunch, like a crashing pt who needs a pressor now.

Some other helpful ideas: I purchased my Dell at my hospital, which is a teaching hospital, when the residents/interns bought theirs. We obtained a huge discount for buying in bulk and our Information Technology dept. loaded some programs on them also. For instance, the program needed to access labwork from the hospital system ( can only be used on site ). That comes in handy when all the computers are being used or a doc is at the bedside wanting more info.

Also, check with your tax advisor!! I have been able to write off both my systems and programs. Since this is the end of the year and Christmas is here, that tid-bit might come in handy. Please, Please, Please, check with your tax advisor.

You and yours be happy and healthy this holiday season!

Cynthia
