Thumbs up Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Good morning everyone (at least it's morning here in Ohio)

I've been an LPN since '02 and I've worked primarily in assisted living (my passion) since my graduation.

I JUST stared working towared the ADN with Excelsior College. I'm in the midst of studying for my first exam.

I feel really isolated being in the distance learning program but I'd rather feel isolated than stuffy in a classroom....

Nice to meet everyone.

If there's anyone from Ohio, let me know....

God bless.

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hello,
I am Heather, I'm 23 and an LPN of two years. I just started the Excelsior program to get my RN (ADN). I am working on prereqs at the moment, just took my Life Span exam and passed with a B. Now I am working on A&P. I am loving Excelsior cause I have no weekly clinicals, no papers, no quizzes etc. And I get to work at my own pace. So...hi!

Smile Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hello,
My name is Dee. I just joined this site today. I have been a LPN for over 10yrs now. I am doing my RN through TCN/Excelsior.
I finished Life Span Psych and got a B. I am now working on World Religions. I am happy to have found this site.
With my life, (7yr old with Autism, work part time, and home to take care of) this is the only way I can do my RN. I could not sit in a class.
Look forward to looking around this amazing site and getting to know others,
Thanks and Blessings,
Dee

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hi all. I am in my second quarter of the LPN-RN transition at Sinclair. I started working on my pre-reqs and co-reqs as soon as I finished PN school in Aug. 06 and finished all but one class before getting into the program and I took that one last quarter.

I have a whole passel of kids but most have flown the coop. I'm in the Cincinnati-Dayton OH corridor I have one in Kentucky, one in Columbus, one in Cinci and one in Iraq. The "baby" is still at home in high school.

I'm considering doing my ADN to BSN online after I finish this so I can work more.

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hello everyone, I have been a member of this site for a long time and decided to say hello. I love the talks everyone has. I am a new LPN in Virginia who came from California school, huge difference here. I am working on my BSN through College Network and Indiana State. I'm truely interested in hearing from anyone in the same boat I'm in. Love school and studying, just not in a class with people who repeat what the teacher just stated or ask stupid questions. I work as a cardiac nurse and an endo nurse. When I finish (someday) with my BSN I plan to go on to be a nurse anethetist. I have teenagers that struggle with school as much as I do, but I love being a nurse. Anyone can say hello, love to hear from you!!

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

I am a LPN for 14 years working on an ADN currently. It is hard as a single mom and having to work full time. Nice to hear from everyone and see I am not alone in this struggle.

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hello! I'm 26 and have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the past two and a half years, and currently work at a hospital on the Surgical Unit. I'm currently enrolled for the ASN, just about to end my first year, and once this is completed, I'll go for my BSN.
