Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hi, I'm Debbie and have been an LPN since Oct 06. I'm currently working in a small ER, I just started here 3 weeks ago. Prior, I worked on a med-surg floor at a very large trauma hospital where I was used as an aide and not a licensed nurse. The ER is a better fit, I'm used as a nurse and fully utilize my license here. I'm also going to the local college's one day a week program starting in Sept, so I'm busy. Given that I'm a single mom to two really funny kids, who are never boring and keep me on my toes because they are so smart, I don't get bored, just tired! Good luck to everyone.

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

This is great hope to get a lot of help information from those of you going thru the LPN to RN program. I am 45 years old and divorced with 3 kids and have been an LPN for 10 years. I will finish my associates degree in December of this year, and want to start on my BSN soon after. I work in geriatrics but hope to go back to hospital work after i graduate. I am also working on a Forsenic certification thru the Little Rock PD where i am personal friends with the head of the CSSI unit there.

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hello, Im Shasta. Im 23 years old. I live in Oklahoma City.
I just received my LPN license and graduated LPN school in June. And I'm already going back to school for my RN. I start back to school in January. Im currently looking for a LPN job but I am struggling to find a job. It seems everywhere I apply wants at least one year of experience. I guess maybe it was naive on my part but I just knew that once I got my license that the flood gates would open and I would have plenty of job opportunities. I guess I will continue with my career development teacher's advice "APPLY APPLY APPLY".

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

Hi I'm 24 y.o. I have 2 kids daughter is 6 y.o and son is 3 y.o also married for 5 yrs to a loving, supporting man. I graduated LPN in July passed boards the 1st time round in sept. I will start orientation at a LTCF in a large hospital in a week, so i'm nervous about that. I have been in school non-stop since 2005, and this Aug. had two pre-req's left so i'm still doing that while I wait to bridge over to the ADN. I just took my TEAS test or pre-nursing test (math, eng, science, reading) so I wont know if I was selected for one of the ten seats availabe for the bridge in January. I have my fingers crossed and praying every 30 mins LOL .

EC provides their content guides for free. You must be talking about the practice test EC offers for $60. I personally feel these are essential for success on the concept test. A lot of the same questions that are on the practice test are also on the real test. Good luck to you

Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

LPN for 12 yrs, 36y/o mother of 2 children, will finish RN school in 10 days. Oh happy day. It's still so hard to believe that I am here. I still have a final but I have been truly blessed. I was kind of confused on where to work. DO I go back to the nursing home. I love the elderly or do I go to the hospital I precepted at and possible work in CCU where I was offered a job at. I am thinking the CCU. I love it there too.

CCU has so many young nurses in age there and I feel so old but I think I can do it. Wish me blessing on my challenge of doing something more critical than I have ever done.

Good luck to all in all that you do
Peace
