Re: Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
|

Well, I am thrilled that this spot is here as well ! I am an RPN, in Canada, which for the most part, is LPN in U.S. we have some provinces that call it LPN also. I have also been an LPN, in Central Fl, was for 8yrs actively. Now Canada is home again, but both places always will be. Got my RPN, almost 20yrs ago as a mother of 4, the last was only two weeks old, when i started school.. and breastfed for months through school. Clinical's and all ! Talk about us determined Moms. Life skills teach a lot. I wanted my RN, almost immediately, but it wasn't in the "books" at the time. And the move to Florida encouraged it more, but stopped it from happening too. Now the kids are grown, and the calling is now "yelling" at me, and i am only trying to figure out how..should i say where.. ! the school that the bridging prog is available but to far distance wise, and makes me start all over again basically., I dont want to start all over, I deserve more respect for my skills and experience, between both countries, and all floors of three hosps, home health, peods office, and more..... but i had sort of given up on distance learning, (it is different when you live in Canada) and am going to try the U.S., for furthering education. Maybe an associates. Wont be able to work in Canada with it, but could work Buffalo. And that is close by.
If anyone knows of any assistance, or suggestions, they are always welcome.
Glad to have you all as support ..... and keep up the good work. GO LPNs, RPN,s ! without us, the "whole team has a hole in it" ........

Hello eneryone, I'm glad there are so many LPNs/LVNs deciding to pursue a higher education to become RNs. I am an LVN in Cali, graduated in 2002 and just now decided to strive to become an RN through TCN LVN to BSN. Hey I figure if I have all this time at work (home health-easy case) might as well as go through the torture to get a BSN. Well good luck to us all.... like to read updates on everyone success.

Hello to all. I have been a LPN for 12 years and finally decided to go back for my RN. I will start my classes next month. I am looking for a part time job so that I can support myself while in school. I am currently working for Red Cross and they will not work around your schedule to go to school.

Just graduated LPN school last August and already starting RN school-what was I thinking?! I currently work as a treatment nurse at a nursing and rehab facilty, and surprisingly enjoy it! I think I'll try to specialize in this field when RN school is finished.
