Re: this website is awesome!

Just thought id add my thoughts.

I found allnurses by sheer fluke and thought id have a nose around to see what it was like. I LOVE allnurses, great way to chat and inspire everyone adn to laugh and share things. I found so many who had been through my shoes themselves and it gave me the strength after 3 failed attemps at gaining a place on diploma MH nursing my 4th this year within weeks of joining allnurses i gained my nursing place . The support and advice carried through and helped me when i doubted myself has been amazing. I am now going to tell everyone when I start Uni about allnurses for sure think it will come in handy for students nurses in the UK. We should advertise and forward the addy to British Unis and colleges for those wishing to go into nursing or HCA (healthcare assistants)

I would like to know how old can you work as a nurse?

Age, technically, would be protected against the same laws for discrimination. I am 54 and am physically exhausted after three 12's "on the floor"... So for me, and this againg body, I am looking for easier working conditions when I look for positions.

Re: this website is awesome!

I totally agree. This site is awesome. I found it by accident as well. Except for my classmates and new coworkers, I have no friends that are nurses so nobody fully understands what we deal with.
I'm taking a critical thinking class at a community college and hope to start on my RN to BSN in the Spring. I'm scared to death of College algebra. Any suggestions?

Re: this website is awesome!

This website is awesome. I just became a member and find it very interesting to know and learn about nursing and other people likes and dislike, which I respect. I have been a lvn for 4yrs and will be taking online courses with excelisor college for the RN. Is there anyone who knows of a person who has graduated for excelisor college and receive their RN degree? I am quite nervous taken these courses online. I have heard sooo many different stories of excelisor college don't know what to believe. But I am going on my own intuition. ttyl elidel

Elidel,

I'm an RN, an Excelsior graduate and a moderator here on Allnurses. I know it's hard to believe at times, but people do actually finish the program.

Send me a PM if you have questions - or check out the posts on the Distance Learning/Independent Study Forum here.

Good luck!

Hello Eric thanks for the information. I talked to a counselor advisor from excelsior college and he told me I have to take concept 1 and skip concept 2 and continue off with concept 3. How long did it take to u finish excelsior? And how was the clinical examination? Thanks Elidel
