Subscription function snafu

Some time ago, I went into my CP and deleted all my subscribed threads. A few weeks later, I began receiving new e-mail notifications of thread responses. I went back into CP to discover some (not all) of the threads I had unsubscribed from had mysteriously reappeared. (I'm not talking about subscriptions to new threads in which I had participated after I deleted the first batch of subscriptions. These were subscriptions/threads I had previously deleted and never posted in again.) I again unsubbed from them all.

About a week ago, I finally took the time to investigate my CP to discover how to set the default subscription option to "do not subscribe." Before I set this option, I manually deleted all the currently subscribed threads. I thought this would solve the problem of receiving unwanted e-mail notifications. I didn't know if this change would occur instantaneously, so I refrained from posting for a few days in order to make sure the change "stuck."

Today, I received several e-mail notifications of replies to threads. Upon going into the subscription page of my CP, I discovered I was subscribed to three pages worth of threads! Some of these were threads I had only posted in once -- weeks or months ago. I manually deleted these, then went to "Options," where I confirmed the subscription default is set to "do not subscribe."

Any ideas what is going on with this? I do not want to subscribe to every thread to which I post, and I believe I have set my account up to accomplish this. Have I done something incorrectly, or are my "unsubscribed" threads reappearing due to database restores or something? Anyone?

Thank you!

Re: Subscription function snafu

Hi semisweetchick,

I'm not exactly sure what has taken place, I'm sorry you are having problems getting unwanted email. This is something we do not want to happen.

We have not restored the database, so I don't think that is the problem, but a great guess on your part

I have deleted all your subscriptions. And if your settings in your cp are set to your liking on this page: http://allnurses.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions (see attachment image also)

You can also manage all future subscriptions on the following page:

Hope that helps.

Brian

Re: Subscription function snafu

Thanks for your help, Brian.

All has been quiet, email-wise, since I posted my original query, so maybe the changes have finally "stuck."

Regardless, a few extra e-mails to delete is a small price to pay for belonging to the wonderful community you have founded here!
