Personally, the addition of a shout box lowers this site's quality to that of a high school forum with pedantic one line conversations punctuated with silly icons. I must be missing the purpose, but it would seem better if it was hidden deep in the bowels of the site somewhere.
If you click on 'today's nursing topics' at start up instead of 'all nursing topics', it doesn't show the shout box. I agree, it is a distraction. I don't understand quite how it is meant to differ from the chat feature.
We should also insist on reasonable referencing of research material during debates. Users who say " I had this one patient who..." are basing their practice on a case to case basis which is totally unreliable.
I prefer APA format for references. And WHERE are our footnoting capabilities?
Okay, guys I am totally lost here but my curiosity is now peaked. What is the shout box and where can i find it?? I don't see anything anywhere that says shout box??
