I was trying to search for threads with "IV start" in the title to get tips for starting IVs, but the search keeps giving me results with only "start" in the title not "IV" because it says IV is too common!!! Any tips on narrowing it down to get what I need?

Some other words that would likely be in those posts:

vein, needle, insertion, flash or flashback, tourniquet

You may have to play around a little, but those should get you started. You might specifically check the First Year in Nursing Forum since that's a common question for new nurses.

When I use the allnurses search (near the top of the page) I get the same message 'The words are either very common, too long, or too short ...'

Any tips ... to get what I need?
