Edit?

This happened last week, and I pm'd a mod who was online... now I can't remember who it was (sorry, going on no sleep here lol)

I tried to edit a post, and instead received a message that the board did not allow editing beyond five minutes after posting. Then I noticed the edit buttons had disappeared from all my posts. I pm'd the mod, who wasn't aware of this, but shortly thereafter the edit buttons reappeared and things went back to normal.

It just happened again. Is this a burp in the system or is it something that has changed with the board?

I am a bit anal about spelling, but I use the edit mostly to clarify a post when I feel it may be misunderstood, or I've forgotten to add some info; there's also been a few times I realized I added something a bit too personal and needed to take it out.

Just curious

Edit: just testing

Have reported this to see what sort of problem it is.

Re: Edit?

I swear I just saw them again. Now they're gone. Again.

ETA: Now it's back.

Many years ago, on a TV soap-opera, one character had a history of a trauma and psychotic break of some kind; her devious jerk of a husband was trying to drive her crazy again so he could have her committed and run away with his mistress. He'd do stuff like rearrange the furniture and misplace items then act all innocent... "What are you talking about? The sofa has always been up against that wall! You're not seeing things again, are you????"

I'm just sayin'....

Same here. I feel like it's safe to edit till I get a response, then I'll only edit to add something or correct spelling. Otherwise, it goes in another post.

I hope it's nothing serious.

Re: Edit?

Sorry, not a glitch ..
due to spam issues, we have decided to place a time limit on how frequently a member may edit their post

We also decided that it's best not to remove the edit priviledges to Premium and Platinum members. (Premium and Platinum should now see the edit button.)

thank you for understanding

Re: Edit?

So I'm not crazy after all. At least not yet. This on again/off again appearance of the edit button had me worried.

*whew*

OK, so there is now a time limit on editing a post? Are only premium members allowed to edit? Is the time limit for regular members and then paid members are allowed unlimited time? I didn't quite understand that from your post.

I'm thinking paid members don't have the time limit; I just did an edit of my original post made yesterday to test it out.
