Re: Closing Threads by the MODS

I guess I'm in the minority here, so I will bow out. I am very pro-moderation because I came here from an unmoderated board where I was literally run off by trolls. I would rather have the mods that All Nurses has than be anywhere else. In my short experience they have been friendly and always willing to answer questions, including the "Why the &)(^%%! did you close my thread!" type. Just my experience, sorry if anyone else has had the opposite.

I will say that occasionally it might be shut down without PMing the members. It might just disappear. It shouldn't happen that way, but sometimes it happens. But there is always a reason for shutting and removing threads.

Do you PM the administrators and ask why it was shut down for no apparent reason? I can honestly say in the threads I've been involved in or witnessed being shut down there has always been a reason.

Re: Closing Threads by the MODS

I have my comments deleted by the Mods. At fiest was very angry. Now I am not. I also was offended by some of the post and have flamed a few. Now I do not. I have learned from this site and have grown because of it. So thank you all nurses.com,

I would have liked to have directly pm'd the person that did it and asked them why, but (and also the point i'm making), since there was no apparent reason given in any form, no PM, no 'last post closing statement' so to speak, there wasn't a way to PM the person and ask.

I understand. I also understand how offputting that must have been.

Prior to becoming a mod for that kind of stuff I just used the Administrators Feedback Forum. It's a wonder they invited me to moderat since I've bumped heads with them a time or two (or three).

It was offputting. To the point i just thought "why even bother saying anything about it, i'll just be seen as a troublemaker, again."

(And i'm very well aware that i'm thee last person that would ever make moderator, i've never had to wonder about that lol.)

Yeah ... I've bumped heads more than that. I'll never be asked to be a moderator ... that's for sure. I think I'm still on probation, actually.

hehehe you're in good company. (See above).

Actually bumping heads with the mods, if done in the right way, can be a good thing I suppose, both for us mods (keeps us on our toes, lets us know what you think) and for the member if they gain some understand and continue to stick it out as a member.

Let's just say it probably wasn't done the right way. But ... c'est la vie. As Popeye says: I am what I am.
