Can we have an acronym thread somewhere?

Some of the terminology used on this board is different from what I'm used to, being an Aussie nurse. Mostly, I'm able to nut it out but sometimes I just don't know what the abbreviations stand for. And I don't want to look like a total idiot by asking. : blush :

WOT! An AUSSIE an idiot??!!! NEVER!!!!!
Go ahead jabiru, ask away. No-one here ever thinks us AUSSIES are idiots!
They love us TOO much for that! Besides, we all know it's them wot uses weird language, not US!!!
I think, if you search the boards, you'll find a section with the different words used etc etc. I'm sure it's on here.....somewhere.

I know there's a sticky in one of the student forums with a really good link to Acronym Finder. Is there a particular area/specialty of nursing where the terms are particularly confusing for you? Maybe we can come up with something based on that.

Best of luck to you! Don't be afraid to ask anyone.

Don't say I never gave you anything! http://www.acronymfinder.com/ I keep this on my "favorites" list!

Not sure if the Aussie ones might be a little different. If you have an acronym they don't have, you can add it, the site tells you how.

Good site. Thanks for that. It's just that a lot of the abbreviations you North American nurses use are different from the ones we're familiar with (LPN, for example). I can generally work them out ... eventually!
