Can't edit journal entries

Um, I can't edit my journal entries. There are two New Post buttons. And a weird set of symbols attached to my avatar in journal. Don't know if anyone else is experiencing these. I'm thinking so, I think I've seen a couple of comments.

I'm sorry if this concern has already been addressed. I did a search and got WAY too many hits to read through.
