What do you wear in this weather?

I am new to Home Health (and loving it!) but I never know what to wear! I live in snowy, blustry, Pennsylvania. If I wear tennis shoes, my feet are soaking from tromping in the snow. If I wear big boots, my feet sweat in the car in between patients. Some houses I take my shoes/boots off, some I just say "heck with it"! I can't wait till spring when I can put on some tennies and a windbreaker.

Re: What do you wear in this weather?

Are you doing short visits? I like Pvt duty because I know where I'll be every day and I know which houses are chilly and which I'm warm in
As far as shoes, I like the rubber clogs found in uniform catalogs/ stores for this weather as long as the snow isn't deep it's really only my toes that get soggy anyway in regular shoes so something like Klogs or closed toe Crocs seem to suit me fine for the walk from my car (usually parallel parked) to the home. If it's especially snowy, I go with boots and a dry pair of slip ins or even slippers for the house. The days I go to school with kids and must wear nice shoes are usually nicer anyway, so I luck out there.

Re: What do you wear in this weather?

I live in New England and just discovered those suede clogs with the rubber soles that everyone else has been wearing for a couple of years. They feel like sneakers but are somewhat waterproof and don't look bad with pants. I got a "generic" pair at that store that begins with Wal (do not want to violate the rules here!!!) for about $12 and they are great!!!!!! Lightly insulated and great!!!!!

I have a pair like these that are Birkenstocks. They are pricer $115.00 but with my feet it's well worth the extra moola. I'm lucky that I don't have to wear scrubs but only a short lab coat over my clothes. I do most of the time but when it's really cold I wear jeans and a nice sweatshirt. Pt's have made the comment that gee you look comfortable and warm today.
