Pay Issues

I have been working for a large HH company in the washington DC/Maryland area for the past four year. I love doing home health but lately i have been working 10-12 hr days and my boss has been driving me crazy with her passive attitude. Well getting to my problem. I have been orienting this new nurse who has no HH experience and she tells me that she is getting 8 dollars more an hour than i am. I am so ****** off. I did not say anything to the woman to make her uncomfortable but i could see that she new i was ****** off. I spoke to my boss about the situation and she advised me that all she could do for me was offer me per visit or a three dollar and hour raise. I left her office steaming. I have not handed in my resignation yet but i will within the next 48 hours. A friend of mine has told me that i should speak to the VP of nurses about the situation. Can anyone give me some advice?

Yes talk to the VP and tell her either you get your raise or here's the resignation. Have it with you. They can either pay you or pay a new nurse that wage.

How crazy. I am glad for my union and fair wages across the board.

Re: Pay Issues

This is a bit off topic but...I got hired at a HH agency as a float nurse for a certain amount of money. I hadn't even started and they asked if I wanted to be a case manager. Sure I said. Well, now I find out that it's 3 times the amount of work for no raise in pay. We're union and they go by the scale. I am either going to tell them to give me a raise or put me back to float. Just wanted to vent.
