Re: New To Website

Thread is conditionally opened.
The nature of the thread has been discussed by staff.
Staff require additional clarification from new member, YSLPN2000.
Clarification sought is in what manner do you hold a provider number if you are an LPN??????? This is not typical. Please clarify your situation.

At this time, other members are to refrain from posting on this thread until additional clarification is obtained by YSLPN200 and further discussed by staff. Posts other than by YSLPN2000 and staff willl be removed until further notice.

Re: New To Website

Hi there,

You should have received a manual of some sort with your provider number (or with the no-doubt extensive application.) Due to the complexities of trying to actually figure this stuff out, and correctly submit requests for payments, I would suggest you contact your area Agency on Aging for some suggestions. There are (last I knew) choices of billing by paper/snail mail and electronically. The former is slow and prone to extreme delays in payments. The latter can be expensive to maintain needed software and updates for a lone provider (your margin is going to be small enough as it is if Medicare reimbursement hasn't changed substantially in the past couple of years.)

You really need someone to sit down with you face to face and go over this. Are you acquainted with anyone who works for or runs a home care agency and could connect you with their billing person?

I will move this to the home health nursing forum for any additional suggestions.

Edited to add: replacing "Medicaid" with "Medicare" lol - late in the evening for me .
