home health in manhattan?

hi all,

i'm contemplating home health. i've only one year of experience in critical care. i think i've had it. some days i love it but some days i really hate it. i feel like the last year has drained 5 years off my life expectancy. i need a lifestyle change. i need to sleep and eat regularly.

i remember that i loved home health in nursing school. it was my favorite clinical. and i miss actually building relationships with patients and teaching them. is there anyone out there who works in home health in manhattan, particularly for visiting nurse of new york, who could give me some words of wisdom? what is a typical day like for you? how's the traveling? how's the paperwork? are you spending alot of time at home charting, off the clock?

thanks in advance for your help!

Re: home health in manhattan?

There is a lot of paperwork/charting done after hours, for me anyway. It seems like it never ends sometimes. I dont work for VNS, but work for another agency that is also in 5 boroughs. I've been in HH for 5mos and I think I've had it!!
