Unhappy Home health agency vs. Independent contractor

I am somewhat confused about what I would be considered if I were independently practicing nursing in patient homes. I am seriously considering starting my own business. In Mississippi, you have to have a license to start a home health agency. I don't plan to hire anyone else. My plan is to contract with our local doctors to provide nursing services in the home. Can anyone shed some light?? I don't want to get into trouble later on down the road!! Thanks

I don't know about in your state but in Ohio you can apply to the Medicaid program to be an independent nurse. Can you do that in your state?

Lightbulb Billing as an independent RN provider

Thanks. Yes, according to what I was able to gather from the Medicaid website today. Am still learning. Do you know if an RN can bill private insurance, Medicare, VA, etc.? Thanks again.

I know some hospitals are contracting and some travel agencies only employ independents.
