Post computer technology and liability

I would love to have feedback from those of you who are using laptops, pda's in the home. What is your company's policy regarding your personal responsibility for the equipment? Do they require you to replace the equipment if you loose it, damage it, it gets stolen? I work for a company that is requiring us to sign a statement that we will reimburse them for the equipment no matter how damage or loss occurred. Thanks in advance for any responses. hotflash

WE DO NOT HAVE ANY POLICY AT ALL. OUR LAPTOPS ARE LEASED, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I KNOW ONE OF THE NURSES SPILLED A COKE ON HERS (IT WASN'T HER COKE, IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S IN THE WAY) AND IT RUINED THE COMPUTER. NOBODY MADE A FUSS OVER IT AND SHE GOT A NEW ONE RIGHT AWAY.
