Re: who all got accepted to Samford and UAB

Me. I am leaning UAB hard right now. Here is my thought process...
<b>Pros</b>
UAB: Liked all but one of the interviews. Big plus with the montgomery regional site. Much more economical. Guaranteed peds clinicals. I like that it is in the SHRP and not in the nursing school. Reputation.
Samford: Beautiful campus (doesnt really matter, but still...). ALL of the interviewers were very nice, and their staff bent over backwards to make interviewees feel welcome. The lower student/teacher ratio. Entirely front loaded. Class schedule set up for success.
<b>Cons</b>
UAB: Larger class size. Class schedule a little more hectic. One staff member and I did not "hit it off" so well. Distance learning as a member of the montgomery clinical for the seminars and classes in the last 18 months. Not entirely front loaded.
Samford: MONEY...much more expensive. Satellite clinicals that rotate you around Birmingham. I would still have to live in the city the entire 28 months. No hard stats on graduates, yet. Vacating program director. No scheduled peds clinical.
After all of this careful thinking, I am leaning to UAB. The good news is that if I decide to go that way, then there will be one very happy person getting in Samford. (They can write me a check for 350 bucks and will write my letter tomorrow.) :-)
What are your thoughts?
