Where should I work?

I am going to be a new grad in June and I have been accepted to the MICU and CPICU/overflow ICU at Parkland in Dallas. For me, the downside to the CPICU is that when the census is low, they require floating to the floor. On the other hand, they offer extensive education opportunities in IABP, swan,.... As for the MICU, my understanding is that it is very diverse also, with the majority pulmonary pt's. Also post-MI from medicine service. I am debating on where I should go. My ultimate goal is CRNA. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Where should I work?

Get into an ICU where you will get experience on Vents, Vasoactive drips, post-surgical pts.

Check out information on the AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) for more information. They provide tons of useful information for aspiring nurse anesthetists. They just updated their links page. You should check it out.
