Re: what RN/ADN to CRNA programs are available?

You cannot get into CRNA school without a bachelors degree. Most applicants have a BSN and some have a degree in the sciences with an ADN.

See the FAQ sticky here... http://allnurses.com/forums/f16/read...tml#post265673

You can also visit www.aana.com for a list of programs and more info.

Re: what RN/ADN to CRNA programs are available?

Sorryfor not addressing your question directly with school choices.. but here goes...

I don't think there are any direct RN -> CRNA programs per se. I know that Columbia for one, up until this past summer '07 had offered an Accelerated Masters Program (AMP) for ADN prepared nurses which gave you your BSN in between applying to the masters program of your choice. The fall '07 was the last accepted class. I don't know of any similar programs off the top of my head.

I am not sure if that is along the lines you were thinking. You would have to check with individual schools to see how they structure their Masters level degree programs from ADN status.

Re: what RN/ADN to CRNA programs are available?

Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio has a program like this, but it's something like $1300/credit hour. I think the total cost of the program is $100,000. They call it a "bridge" program, and do include anesthesia.

Re: what RN/ADN to CRNA programs are available?

The Cleveland Clinincs RN-MSN route is not for anesthesia according two of the program directors. They specifically want you to have a BSN. My co-worker asked about this at a recent open, b/c he was interested in going this route. The program director told him that he would have know chance of admission without a BSN. I think at one point they allowed RN-MSN with anesthesia track, but when I meet with one of the program coordinators, she specifically asked if I had my BSN, and said that they would absolutely not allow anyone into the program w/o it. Sorry!

That's news to me because I work at the Clinic and know of a few people who have gone this route. Maybe they put an end to it. I'll have to recheck it.
