what are my chances with these stat??

Nursing GPA: 3.9
Cum GPA: 3.8
Science GPA: 3.8

BUT.. I just bombed the GRE with a 920 (450v/470q) and a writing score of 3.5!!!

im not stupid, i just didnt prepare well enough for this test. i know i can retake the GRE, but the thought of sitting through that again just doesnt sit well with me.

anyway, do you think some programs will still let me in? i will have 2yrs of CTICU experience (both adult and peds hearts) from a prestigious medical institution.

thanks..

Re: what are my chances with these stat??

I think you should be ok...I just got an interview with Barry and my gpa was just as high as yours and my GRE was 980. Yes i know that test was the worst test EVER and I hate to think about retaking it. I am hoping that since I have a MS degree I can be waived, but if not and they are that strict, I will be retaking it. But with that said, I got an interview with Barry and now I need to really impress them if my GRE score is low. Good luck!

Go For it, my score was below 1000 and was accepted. Your GPA was excellent and you have good experience. Depending on when you are applying it would not hurt to give the GRE another shot since you have experience with the test.

Re: what are my chances with these stat??

Not all schools require GREs do they? Call around the schools you are interested in and just ask them what kind of score you should have in order to be accepted.

The school I was looking at in Lincoln, NE doesn't seem to require you to take them. Here is a link to their requirements page: http://www.bryanlghcollege.org/soa/soa_requirements.htm

The University of Nebraska Medical Center specifically says that GRE scores are not needed for their NP program.

Re: what are my chances with these stat??

I think that most schools require the GRE and some will accept the MAT. I don't know the names of the programs but I recall talking to someone that only applied to schools that didn't require the GRE. The programs were in Minnesota, Kansas, and Connecticut. I think the SUNY-Buffalo is another one?
