I was pretty pleased with everyones attitude and how pleasant it was. I think my interview went better than i expected but there are 60 people competing for 26 seats. Im still sitting here thinking about what i should have said and things like that b/c i was so nervous. Mostly they seemed to want to know if i was prepared financially and emotionally for the program. My overall GPA isnt that great, but my science GPA is very good, My dad is a CRNA, and i have 2 B.S. degrees, CCRN, and 3.5yrs ICU experience, no kids, and a good chunk of money saved up. So with all of that, I really hope it is enough for them to give me a shot. How did your interview go? When do you think they will let us know anything?

my interview went okay, but after i left i felt strange about it. i felt like there was awkward silences in between the questions and it made me feel like they didn't like my answers....but then again i could be over analyzing. my gpa is adequate but i only have 2 years rn experience, one of those being in ccu. my dad is a crna too and like you i don't have kids yet, so it sounds like we're kinda in the same boat!! i did like the simulation lab, that was pretty amazing! i think they said they were going to make their decisions on friday (16th) and we should know by the end of next week. i asked if they could let me know sooner, b/c i've been accepted to another school and their deposit deadline is the 16th. they said they couldn't promise anything but they would consider calling me on friday. so unless i hear something tomorrow i'll be going to wolford college in naples. good luck and let me know when you hear something!

I'm interested in what types of questions they asked about your financial status. I'm on a committee at an Anesthesia School and it against the law to ask questions on finances, marrital status, children etc... Of course there are ways around asking bluntly and most applicants supply the info when the talk about themselves. Just curious. Good luck to you

This is what I've heard.

They asked some roundabout questions and I sure did volunteer the information myself, like most people I imagine.

They did not specifically ask what my financial situation was. They did ask what kind of support i had and volunteered that i had emotional support from my family and that my financial situation was very good. They wanted to make sure that i knew that i couldnt work during the program and that i had a plan in place so i was surprised by the workload, etc. They in no way probed my money situation, i gave that info voluntarily.

Why would you interview at Union when you are already accepted at Wolford? Just curious. Union is pretty damn expensive.

Re: Waiting after interview........

the main reason i went ahead and interviewed at union is because at wolford they don't have financial aid....none, zip, zero, nada. so to go there i am going to have to sign on w/ a group and hope that they will give me a stipend. at union i could get loans, and even though it is more expensive it would all even out in the end if you factor in the cost of living in naples.
and to answer your question about wolford's interview. it was great! they have all the interviewees in a room w/ a current student. the student answers any questions you have while you wait to interview. the panal was laid back, no clinical questions just "are you comfortable w/ lines, gtts, airway management?" the panal hyped up their school a lot so when i left i felt like i was meant to go there. the only thing holding me back is MONEY!!
