Hi Guys
I am looking for some advice. I took a very non-traditional rout to becoming an RN. I challenged the California LVN boards based on my experience as an army medic (no LVN school), Moved to Wisconsin and enrolled in thier Technical College's 10 month LPN to RN ADN program. (I worked as an LPN for 10 years between). I have a total of 34 college credits to my name and only one science class, Microbiology (got an A). I was granted advanced standing for A&P and chemistry based on taking challenge exams at the technical college (Wisconsin calls it's community colleges technical colleges) when I enrolled. I have a 3.88 GPA from my ADN program. Currently work in a 36 bed SICU in a larger teaching hospital and am enrolling in a RN to BSN program. The BSN program does not require any science classes.
I intend to apply to CRNA school in the future. I wish to be a highly competent practitioner as well as be competitive in the CRNA school applications. To accomplish this I am planning on enrolling in several science classes prior to making my application to CRNA school.
WHat classes should I take? I was thinking of a basic 4 credit chemistry with lab class and organic chemistry. I could also take bio-chem or one of several other classes. I was planning on taking 2-4 classes. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I would contact the schools that you plan on applying to. Some may recognize your advance standing in A&P and chemistry; probably several will not. Many schools require science courses within 5 years of applying as it is. Taking a general chemistry with lab, a organic/biochem with lab is probably a good place to start. It may not be a bad idea to take one or two graduate science courses (e.g. anatomy, physiology, statistics). However, I would contact the schools' admissions offices to be sure.
