thinking about CRNA

I am a senior and will graduating with my BSN in May of 2008. I am thinking that I would really enjoy the role of the CRNA. The programs in my area are RUSH and Northwestern (Chicago, IL). Both schools are extremely competitive. Both programs prefer two years ICU experience but may accept 1 year. How soon should I be contacting the school? Any recomendation for GRE study books? Is anyone attending these programs that could give me some advice on ways to make myself stand out or offer insight into how hard it is to get into the program. My cummilative GPA is 3.8 and my cummilative nursing GPA is 3.7.

I am doing a GRE prep course. Especially for CRNA, you'll want a great score. Plus, it forces you to really buckle down and study - better to fork up the $ and do it than not get the score you wanted and have to retake...

I thought you had to have two years ICU experienced to be certified...
