Guys and girls,
I had an interview down in Naples, FL at Wolford college for their program. The school accepted me, but it is the first and only school I have applied to. The school seems awesome (Housing NOT included). I am single and will have no support down there and am just wonder what will help me the most as far as adjustment wise. What living or housing set up is best (i.e living with other students/ alone?)

Does anyone know the school or have an opinion on the program. What will help with preparation the most?

Hello--I am interested in Wolford as well. Do you mind sharing your GPA, GRE and nursing experience? My GPA is 3.3 for the last 60 credits, GRE 1700 (2001), I have 15 years of nursing experience and over a year and a half of ICU experience. What was the interview like? Thanks.

Your resume actually looks good. the interview will be the most relaxed you will ever have by far. if you apply, I firmly believe you will get in with your resume because it is very competitive. I only had a year and 3 months in the CVICU. good luck.

joenl, were the gre scores scored differently in 2001? i thought the highest score possible was 1600? just curious. thanks...

Hope you feel that this is the best fit for you. CRNA schools are very tough to get into don't turn them down unless you truly feel that this is not the right program for you. lots of luck!!

I think they like the GRE score to be no older than 5 years

Yes the GRE changed in Oct 2002. Prior to then the top score possible was 2400 since the analytical section was also on a 200-800 scale (3 section x 800= 2400) Since that time the verbal and quanatative sections remain on the 200-800 scale and the analytical is 0-6 with .5 increments so the top score would be 1606.

I have two friends who graduated from the program within the last 2 years. I would check into what financial aid would be available to you from this school...as their credentialing was kinda up in their air for a while and so was their ability to have their students qualify for federal financial aid.......

In response to financial aide, the school now has all the financial aide available to any other school - federal and subsidized. This is a good time to find rentals in Naples. I know several single people that rented guest houses from home owners in town. If you contact the school, they have a list of several people that have condos and rooms for rent in town. I came down for a week before I started school, stayed in a cheap motel (the Sea Shell Motel in Downtown - $50 a night off season), and hit the rent ads in the newspaper. It took a while to find something that was acceptable to live in and affordable, but it all worked out. If you're looking to buy, the prices are coming down...there are decent condos in golf communities selling for mid 100's and 3 bedroom houses for mid 200's. Good luck!
