Hey Y'All! Doing the same--I think August 11th is registration for the year for CRNA students, but I left a message with Ms. Dukes yesterday to double-check.

Am studying already too! Reading "Baby Miller's" Basics of Anesthesia, reviewing Pharmacology, Organic Chemistry and Physics. Also reading Anesthesia Secrets. Got a ton of super-neat Anesthesia PDA applications for my Palm at SkyScape. Evidence-based medicine, patient-oriented, outcome-based articles regarding anesthesia can be accessed on your phone and read while you eat lunch! How cool is that?

Also shadowing a MDA here in northern California on my off days. THAT is awesome! This wonderful Doc's words still ring in my head, "Anesthesia is magic!..."

I think clinicals start next April. Aren't you excited??? To have the LUXURY of being a full-time student studying something you LOVE and being able to be in a profession that ROCKS is great. I can't wait!

Thanks. I have sent an email about the official orientation date, etc but have not recieved a reply. I have about 12 binders full of info for school; I too have the two books beforementioned plus 3 more so far. I can access my school email, but was wondering whether we have access to our schedule; ie days on campus, internet classes, etc. Any info will be readily appreciated. I will be purchasing a Palm Treo 755 next week to download the Act program. What type of phone/pda combo do you have? Any other suggestions?

The Treo 755 is what I have too--you will love the ACT program. A nice application is Barash's 5th edition Clinical Anesthesia. 2 cool websites are:

They told me registration for new CRNA students may not be until August 15th, not the 11th like I thought. But I have to call her back Monday afternoon.

What other books, tips, websites do you suggest? InfoPOEMs is available with MedStream to get journal articles for our Research class. Any thoughts on your Capstone project?
