You shouldn't look at it in terms of comparing the 2 programs. They are as different as night and day. Though both are masters programs, the CRNA program is much more intense and is comparable to some med school curriculums. As the program director at Texas Wesleyan said to me, "I have to teach you everything about anesthesia in 2 1/2 years that doctors learn in twice the amount of time." CRNA's are held to the same standard as anesthesiologists are. It is a field unlike any other in nursing. It is almost "non-nursing" in it's function.
