helping decide to be a CRNA

I just graduated and am gonna do a graduate nurse internship. I am possibly going to pursue becoming a CRNA but need help deciding which Units would best reinforce whether I would like the job or not. (should i get a unit on ICU, OR , PACU, etc) Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: helping decide to be a CRNA

To be able to get into a program, you are going to need critical care experience. There is no way around that.

Suggest that you spend sometime doing some research here on this thread about the requirements for even getting accepted to a program.

Re: helping decide to be a CRNA

If you can get a job in the ICU that would be best. Most schools seem to like SICUs. Like previously posted do some research and check out www.aana.com. If you want know if being a CRNA is right for you, shadow a CRNA in the OR a few shift. Find out who the chief CRNA is at your hospital and talk to them. Good Luck
