I am so sick and tired of all the programs requiring different things. Some require chemistry, some organic, some PALS, and then there are some that require a bachelor's in whatever. This is my first year applying and I am driving myself crazy trying to clep classes and get PALS and take the GRE because I really want to apply for next year. If I have a GPA of 3.7 ish and make at least the minimum on the GRE, will I have a chance. Everyone tells me not to expect to get accepted the first year I apply. Is this true?

No, not true. Just do your best, present yourself as best you can to each program and you have every chance as the next person. I applied to one program and got in on the first time I applied. It happens all the time.

I had a 3.7 and got in after my first year. I had a good GRE score, but they didn't seem to care about that. You don't need PALS before you apply, just before you start the program. My advice: don't listen to people who say you will or won't get in because they just don't know what's going to happen to you. Just apply and see what happens.

Barry University in South Florida still has a few spots avail. for Jan. 2007. I heard they are looking into a new clinical site so they are considering three more students for January's Class.

You must meet the requirements for Barry and have a Florida license in hand by January (when classes start).

Barry has one of the largest CRNA classes in the USA and a significant number of clinical sites. Those of you concerned about getting into a CRNA school should include them on your list.

Just a thought about the PALS requirement, some schools (as did mine) required that you have PALS before you apply, and keep it current for two years. So check with your school for what they want and follow their advice.
