because of ferpa, the school cant access a database with all your schools listed.
Once you are admitted to a program and to associate membership in the AANA if you are assigned a permanent membership identification number. A student has to indicate on the application for Associate membership that they either have or have not been previsously admitted to a nurse anesthesia program and sign the form indicating that the information on the form is true. When the ID numbers come back to the program the previously admitted student would have their original number listed which would be out of sequence with the other student's numbers. Most programs have in their student policies that falsification of information in the application is grounds for immediate dismissal- no ifs ands or buts!!! So it is possible to determine if someone has previously been in a program. It's better to be up front then to be dismissed for fraud!

Possibly, except that part of the policy at each school is that you must submit ALL previous transcripts, and failure to do so could result in being kicked out of the program if caught.

I had no idea so I called my sis who is a prof. at a Texas Univ. and she said that they can withdraw your degree. Actually make it null and void. Wow! That's pretty crazy. But according to her if the univ. bylaws state that you must submit all transcripts and you don't, it's considered faslification. Sounds pretty harsh to me..........

That is demented. What would they likely do? If the degree was taken away, would licensure follow?

If one commits fraud and that is what it would be considered, then even if they have graduated and passed the licensing exam they would be subject to being stripped of their diploma and then that would cause the state to cancel their license as well. No diploma and therefore grounds for having license cancelled as well. It is not demented at all. If one is not truthful when asked to provide all information, then what else would they be willing to withhold at a later date?

Have seen others get into programs later on that had to leave previous programs, same thing with RN programs as well. With good reason and a change if needed to whatever was the causitive effect, can usually have a positive influence on getting selected.

We see things like this happen in the world of international nursing as well. To leave out anything is the same as having not been truthful in the application.

The other and bigger issue is that a full credential process is done before you get hired in the job as a CRNA and they will be investigating everything, and I mean everything. You will need to account for every bit of schooling, and every license that you have ever held, even if it was 20 years ago.
