Has anyone applied, researched, been accepted, or gone through the CRNA program at Duke? I'm interested in any info that anyone can provide.

I'm especially interested in opinions on the quality of the program, the cost, and the acceptance rate (or average accepted applicants gpa, gre, and experience). Thanks!

I am applying there as well and looking for info. I am really surprised no one answered your question. From what I know, they have a really good program (ranked 6th in 2003). However, this year, they lost thier excellent director and a new one is coming in July.
They have a good support system for their students and they want you to succeed in the program. You need at least 1000 on your GRE to get interviewed though. Not sure about GPA requirement. Duke is hard to get into though...good luck.

Several people have gotten into the Duke program with a score lower then 1000, so dont let that discourage you. Also if you work for the hospital it can be helpful in the interview process, from what I have been told.

Applied to Duke. No response yet, deadline July 1.
The old director of Duke is now @ W. Carolina, which is a new program, not accredited yet.
What I know of the program: It's good, they want/will help you. They have a patient simulator lab, you get transplant experience, you may have to compelete with anesthesiology students on the case experiences. It's a Cost over 42,000 on my intial calculation. It's a name DUKE, you make no more or less coming out of school. Maybe you will make less if you decide to stay there considering they don't pay much at least nurses.

My friend (won't say his name so I dont' call him out) got it with barely over a 1000 GRE and a 3.1 GPA into Duke's program. I was shocked! (not about the GRE but by the GPA) But he had had all As in his science courses after getting his BSN and he showed a real thirst for knowledge and real dedication. His recommendations were excellent and he's a very hard worker and knows his stuff. I also took Chemistry with the guy and he was the only other person beside myself and one other to get an A in this class (very challenging professor, just created a 98% effective treatment for breast cancer) so i know he's capable. He says it's not easy but it's not ridiculously hard either. I'm on his case for information because i plan to follow in his footsteps. He just started the program in January. I'm waiting until he gets good and deep into before I start really grilling him for questions.
