Re: Anesthesia Program Rankings 2008

To be honest, these rankings are meaningless. They are done with surveys sent to alum etc. There is no science to these ranking other than it being popularity contest. When you get out of school and pass your exam, very few people will give a damn from where you graduated. CRNA school is all about what YOU make of it.

Show me Certification exam pass rates and THEN I will care about a list.

Re: Anesthesia Program Rankings 2008

Has anyone seen the US News and World Report, America's Best Graduate School rankings for Nurse Anesthesia - 2009?

Is the list out yet? Thanks in advance.

Re: Anesthesia Program Rankings 2008

Ranking, hmmmm!

Who has time to compare the rankings of schools when they all are there to guide you to the certification exam? Good or bad, it is a school that is the train to your future. I would hop on whatever train will take you there, no matter the ranking.

Besides, most of school is about the effort you put in, the non-stop reading and memorizing and applying and dedication and discipline.

Read "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and then apply. You will need to be organized and disciplined to make it through!

Back to the books...

Re: Anesthesia Program Rankings 2008

Work some prn like mad if you really want to rid it, however, don't let a year pass just because of small debt. In the overall picture, if you finance your education then what's an extra 12000 to the 100K to 200K debt you will have at the end of the program. You will come out starting at 150K easy with a ceiling of 300k range if you work locum tenums frequently. Waiting a year will put you at least 150k in the hole. Get started. What are you waiting for? Deciding on the right time for anesthesia school is like trying to decide the right time to have kids. Besides, many anesthesia groups will sponsor you or pay a bonus to cover the cost of your schooling. 50k range is not unusual.
