Question Stethoscope

I was wondering what stethoscope is the best for the new nurse? I was thinking about the Littmans, but not sure which one is better - master cardiology or cardiology III? What is your advice?

Re: Stethoscope

That depends on what you are looking for. On a general medical floor, the cardiology III definitely gives you what you need. The master is good for cardiac floors as the softer sounds such as a quiet S3 or murmer is more audible. I've owned both. I prefer the master but both are great scopes.

Re: Stethoscope

I love Littman...had a cheaper version thru school, more expensive after graduation. I have the master classic and love it, you will pay more but it is a lifelong career investment. What a difference in lung sounds.
