1. You're assessing blood flow to the extremity, patency of the artery (to a certain extent), and the person's pulse.... I'm sure there are more. Make note of the quality of the pulse (bounding, thready?), the rate, and if they are equal bilaterally
2. Assess sensation in fingers and toes by "which finger/toe am i touching?" and ask them to answer you..and there are all kinds of ways to test if they feel pain, hot, cold, etc. Check your books!
