Write a list out of certain questions you want answered. Things that are important to you. Ratios--orientation time--mandatory ot or downtime---how much class room time? will they pay for ACLS or a tele class? --longevity of staff--staff turn over---promotion with in the hospital. etc etc etc. Then memorize the list, practice asking these questions outloud. During the interview listen to their responses to the questions you asked. It is ok to take a note pad in and jot down a few things during the interview.
Remember they are not just interviewing you, you are interviewing them too.
Ask for a tour of the unit--ask about job shadowing for a day.
Look the interviewer in the eye and give a firm handshake. Thank them for thier time and dont forget a handwritten thank you note a few days later. In that note mention something that impressed you about thier facility. In that note leave your home and cell number. Make sure your VMs are professional.

You can even take a list of the questions you want to ask. I knew I was afraid I would get nervous so I took one. She seemed impressed when she asked if I had any questions, and I told her I had brought a little list of them. It's hard because you may already know some questions you want to ask, but you will think of more during the interview as well. So, then it gets hard to remember them.
