New Grad sign on bonus?

Hi all,
I am strongly considering moving to chicago when i graduate this may. Unfortunately I can't find any info on whether any hospitals up there are still offering sign on bonuses. Down here (southern IL, and St. Louis) they are still about 5,000 a year. Are these a thing of the past in chicago??
Also, does anyone have any info on new grad starting pay in chicago area?
Thanks

Re: New Grad sign on bonus?

Most hospitals offer sign on bonuses as a way to lure nurses to their hospital. A lot of the bigger hospitals in Chicago do not need that as their name and reputation speak for themselves and the nurses tend to stay at their hospitals. I accepted a position in chicago at a big name hospital and there was no sign on bonus.
