Try heading over to the first year in nursing forum. There is also a career advice forum with interviewing tips and resume advice. Hope this helps.

Hey...call some of your local hospitals' nursing recruiters, or check out some web sites. I have heard of a few around here who have been recruiting those who have been away from nursing for a numer of years, and will provide a refresher/good orientation with their employment...what part of OH are you in?

Re: New concerns.........what forum?

Why, you call up the hospital and ask!

All I mean by "nurse recruiters" are the folks in charge of looking for new nurses, whether they go by that name or not. Most places have someone who is in charge of finding and hiring new nurses, specifically.

This is not the tiome to be shy. The best way to find a job that will fit your needs is to call the hospital, tell them your are interested in getting information on positions that may be open to new grads..when they get you to the right person, let him/ her know your situation and see what they may have to offer. In Ohio right now I think you will find it surprisingly easy to get in at a hospital somewhere.

Happy hunting.

Don't forget to use the web to scope out potential employers. Many of the larger hospitals offer information on their nursing department and new grad programs right on their web-sites. You may also be able to do on-line applications.

I'm up in the NE, so I can't really provide any info for you on specific hospitals in your area.

Don't wait around on classified ads...your not likely to find them. I mention that because I've run into a few people who assume the hospitals aren't hiring because they are not "advertising".

Re: New concerns.........what forum?

Amy, I got my job by first researching which hospitals I wanted to work and then then I called. I got put in the run around at one, and got a call back and job offer within 2 hours of leaving the message with the other.
