Smile Let's introduce ourselves...

Hi everyone! I'm Holli. I took boards on June 13th and passed with 75 questions. I am starting work on July 18th at the only hospital I ever wanted to work for. It is a great pediatric facility! I will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. Also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. I expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. I can't wait to get started!

So, tell me about you...

Holli, RN

Hi Holli I also start work on the 18th. I'll be in the ED of a Level I trauma center. Very anxious to get started ... but still waiting for my ATT to schedule NCLEX, so that's still hanging over my head too.

Best of luck to everyone!

That sounds like an awesome position! Good luck on NCLEX, the waiting was the worst part!

Hi! I'm Jennifer - GN in a Neuro/Trauma unit. I don't take my boards until July 11th. I've been working since June 6th. I really enjoy the floor so far. I have a great preceptor as well as the rest of the floor staff. My feet, legs and back hurt after 12 hours but the experience is really worth it!

Hi everyone. I passed NCLEX on June 16, and I start work on a critical care obstetrics/L&D floor on July 18. I'll be working 3 12-hour nights once orientation is over. I'm NERVOUS!

Hello boys and girls. I just started orientation on a neurology/neurosurgery unit. It has been my home unit since before school, but I'm still having 3/4 anxiety. I take NCLEX July 20, but only 2/4 anxiety there.

Best of luck to us all! (Especially me.)

My unit has an EMU, too. Kind of a funny world, where a nurse is pleased that a patient is seizing.

I'm Rose. graduated May 13th, take boards this friday, july 1st. Working on a cardiac surgery PCU. Been up on the floor some, had to take some dumb classes and some good classes as part of orientation.

I've got a great preceptor-we are the same age and came from the same nursing school.

Hello,
I took the boards June 16th and passed with 75 questions. I'm in limbo about work. We are moving out of state when our house sells, and it's been listed 2 months. I hate to start some where, then quit, but at the same time I don't want to sit here and not do anything indefinately. What would you do? I love L&D, PP. Congratulations to all you new RN's!
