Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

Hi all! Just started my first job on med-surg. I haven't taken NCLEX yet. I am extremely nervous about both the exam and succeeding at work. These forums are so helpful. It's nice to know I am not alone

Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

I am 32 years old and almost through my first year of being a new Nurse. It has been hard at times and very educational, at times I have questioned if I made the right choice and others I would not give it up for anything in the world. My speciality is mainly in Cardiac and ICU. I still have to say everyday I have that moment where I feel I don't know what I am doing and I have found that this is a good thing because I learn something new everyday.

Red face Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

Hi everyone, my name is Jill. I recently graduated from an ADN program in December and finally took the boards yesterday(Feb 16th). I got about 170 questions and until I get the results I'll have to suffer from insomnia. I started the new grad program at a local hospital here in the East bay, and will be working 12hr days in the ICU. I am so excited and extremely nervous to start on the floor. As soon as I get the results you all will definitely be hearing from me.

Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

greetings. i just took my boards on feb.8th and thankfully passed. i now work in a cardiac step down unit, today was my third day. wasn't horid just a lil awkward, but im getting more nervous and i feel like a third day nursing student again....my worst fear is that i will forget the majority of what i learned or look like an idiot on the floor. i just dont know what the expectattions are for new grads ya know? and y are other nurses so darn intimidating..they weren't born with their degrees were they???

Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

hi fellow nurses! I am on my second week of working as a RN. I am on a new grad program and im on the Cardiovascular Definite Observation Unit. ive been on the floor once and it was such a nightmare! i was confused, i felt disoriented, i was having a headache, i felt so incompetent and felt like i knew nothing and didnt even go to nursing school! may God help me in this transition and may we all be empowered by God who gives us strength.

Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

Hello everyone!, I graduated on Dec 12 of 2007, and just took my boards on Feb 21, 2008. I found out 24 hours later that I had passed and I am now an LPN. Pretty excited about that! I guess I was lucky in that I only had to answer 85 questions. But let me tell you when the computer shut off at 85, I about had a heart-attack! Talk about insomnia! I didn't sleep the night before or the night after the test, my first real rest was last night, after I discovered I passed! I start working tonight (on my own with no real supervision), it will probably be like any other night I have worked, except somehow it seems different, and I am pretty excited!

Re: Let's introduce ourselves...

Hi everyone! I graduated in December as an ADN, took the boards on 1/31 and passed after 75 questions. I was sure I failed it and was thankful my results were posted 24 hrs after I took the test. I was a basket case!!! I start my first RN position as a Float on March 3rd. I have been passing the time by getting lots of good info from allnurses to prepare me for my first year!
