I'm Jen, I graduated in May and passed NCLEX in July on the first try. I started my first position in an open heart surgery unit on nights and couldn't handle night shift. So I transferred to days in a congestive heart failure unit. It's been a shaky start but I love it. I am supposed to come off of orientation for this new position anytime and am VERY nervous. Hope all goes well. I still need quite a bit of fine tuning.

Hello everyone. I am also a new nurse, graduated May 2006 from Stark State College, in Canton Ohio. We live in Suffield. I have been working at a LTC/psych/behavioral facility. Prior to being a nurse, I was a mental health case manager for 10 years. (I also have a BS degree in psychology and sociology). I worked full time while in school. I am married to the greatest guy on the planet, Bob. We have two wonderful and very active boys, Jimmy (15) and Kyle (6). To all of you who have not taken your boards, good luck. I dont think I was ever so scared in all my life. I left thinking that I failed, had even gotten online to see when I could take it again. But I did pass. So hang in there, it is not as bad as you think. If anyone needs any advise, please feel free to email me... Andra, RN

Hi everyone. I just graduated from nursing school in December 2007 and passed the NCLEX with 75 questions about 2 weeks ago. I just accepted a position at a major children's hospital in the ED on evening shifts. I start orientation a week from monday and am excited but also a bit anxious about it all. Hopefully all goes well! Good luck to everyone else!
