I just had to share that I accepted my first position as a Nurse. I am a Cardiac ICU nurse at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. I start June 16th and am pretty pumped. I hope to do grad school and everything at Mizzou so I plan on being there quite a while. Sorry, just had to share my joy with you all, Go Nursing!! Haha :P
Congratulations! I just accepted my first job on an oncology medicine floor in St. Louis..I'm already a tech on the floor so i'm hoping the transition is going to be okay..I graduate June 7th and start June 9th. So much for a break! but I'm really excited. You should like University hospital. i'm grew up not far from columbia and I have a couple friends who work there and they like it.
My career started in Neuro ICU - I feel in love with Critical Care & never looked back. Hopefully, you will find a great mentor to help you through your first year - there's a lot to learn, and not all of it is explicit. You sometimes need a 'tribal elder' to guide you.
Stay in Love with Nursing! It's not what you do -- it's who you are.
