Question Initative vs. Guilt

HI! My name is Nicky and I am really glad to be here. I would have really made Erikson proud today! I was in day four of my clinical I rotaion and I did what I thought was important vs what was important. I have real gulit now because I didn't take more intiative. I learned a lot though. I learned that nursing is more then paper/homework and is more about on the floor skills. I also learned more about me and how I want to be vs. who I was. I learned that I need to step up and show intageraty and courage. I learned that I am better then who I was today and yesterday. I know this is vauge and you might be thinking what kind of greeting is this? Well its a new me and you all are witnessing a new birth so welcome to my new life and new outlook.
I have 8 months until graduatation and to turn this plan into an action.
Thanks for reading and stopping by.
Nicky

Congratulations on starting on the path to the new you! I am curious as to what prompted this life change, but am sure that you will reveal that if and when you want to. I wish you the best in the next 8 months.

Welcome aboard! You will learn much more about yourself before it's all over with, and that's a good thing to embrace. You will always be learning about yourself your whole life through...as do the rest of us. The life learning process is never ending, and learning to improve as a nurse is never ending. We never truly arrive. If we do...we've stopped growing. I commend you on recognizing your growth.

welcome.

One of my instructor had Erickson as an instructor in her yout. (not youth, yout - LOL).

So we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with Erickson on the brain.
Funny how 13 yrs later I think I'd need a refresher to make any real comments on his work.

Timothy.
