Hi to all, advice needed

I am considering a career in nursing. I have an advanced degree in science but I am not happy in my field since it is very competitive and pays rather bad. Starting salaries for phd holders are around $35K. Nursing always attracted me because of the human factor. How long does it take usually to finish nursing school and what are the starting salaries? Is it easy to get a position once you are done?

You could most likely go to a direct entry MSN program, 2 years or less. Salary will certainly be better than 35K, but will vary on what setting you work and where in the country you are living.

jsteine1, thank you so much. I had no idea I could go directly into an MSN program. A couple of places I contacted said that I need to complete the BSN first.
