First job

I graduate in May and I recently accepted my first job on a med/surg floor at a local hospital. When I was interviewing this hospital wasn't my first experience, mainly because even though it's the closest hospital to me we don't go there. Also, their L&D unit is LDRP& nursery and I wasn't sure I wanted that type of unit (I want L&D long term so the L&D units were important to me when I interviewed). But once I shadowed I knew this was the hospital for me.

Anyway, I accepted a position that has me working three 12s, 7p to 7a. Exactly what I wanted. I love night work. I start in July and my orientation is 20 weeks, which was really appealing. Some of the other hospitals I interviewed with had orientations that were as short as 9 week.

I just wanted to share the good news.
