Bad, Bad Day

I just got home from a terrible day at work. Nothing went right, everything went wrong...not only for me, but for everyone. The charge nurse ended up crying...twice, I felt like leaving...and never coming back, and everyone else was having just as bad a day as me. I am WAY too tired to go into details right now, but I sure could use some hugs!

Sorry to hear you had such a bad night!! I'm not yet a nurse...but have worked with many...and have had a few of those crappy nights myself! Hang in there...*HUGS*

...sorry you had the shift from, well, you know where. Sometimes it just gets to be too much. Get some rest, eat well and know that we are praying for a better day. Your charge nurse probably needs a hug too so don't be shy about giving one...doesn't have to be physical hug, either.

Usually after a horrible shift when I return the next night I will say to any of the staff that had been there "we're back for more!" Sometimes I will bring donuts or cookies to boost morale. AND tell them I am not responsible for the calories or cholesterol.

Hey, I haven't been in this profession very long, but all I can say is each day brings about some type of challenge, and we all learn from each challenge. So, just hang in there and don't stress out. Do something nice for yourself, treat yourself, after all you deserve it, and try and get some rest.

Hugs

The best part about your shift is that it ended. Don't ever forget that!!! The next time you walk by that "Doctor's Lounge" LAUGH!!! They have to stay, they don't get to go home! (Not bagging on doctor's here, just pointing out the fact that at least you get to go home instead of sleeping a few minutes here and there on a cot!)

There wouldn't be "good" if there were nothing to compare it to.
