I'm applying to USD (University of San Diego) for Fall 2008. Anyone else? They have a great, but crazy competitive, MEPN program.

Great! I'm really excited about it and hope that I can convey that in my statement. I hate writing those btw, it's so hard to say how you really feel without it feeling forced or sounding cheesy. You know?

oh I definitely know how you feel! I am currently editing down my personal statement to the required 500 words or less and it's proving to be difficult. I wish we had double that!! Good luck to you too!!

500 words!? Try the 200-300 maximum I had to do for one of my apps....Sorry to derail, but thought I'd interject about the ridiculousness of some of these word limits!

Anybody know around what percent get interviewed and out of them, what percent get in?

According to my friend, last year they had over 300 applicants, around 90 were interviewed, and then they admitted 40( and around 5 people on top of that from the waitlist). So, if you got an interview it's a reason to celebrate knowing you made the first cut! I'm happy to have gotten an interview...anyone else? We have to do 2 interviews!

I also got an e-mail a couple of days ago. I'm so relieved to have made the first cut, but a bit anxious about two interviews. It's awesome that they're going to send us a list of interview questions in January though. I'm sure that will be very helpful!
