Re: Money, Grants and What to do

I don't know what state you live in/near, but I am completing my MSN online in Ohio (Wright State). It has been a lot of work and I worried that online would be "less of a challenge", however it has been very rewarding. As far as grants go, good luck, I have been unsuccessful. Most hospitals, however, will pay a portion of your tuition (in return for a commitment to work).

I think the CNL program is catching on, slowly but surely, and is probably more accepted in areas of the country that are more proactive with advanced practice nursing. At first glance, it appears to be (but is not), similar to the CNS role and therefore may confuse some and/or slow its acceptance in more conservative areas of the country. It is a unique role and may be the way of the future for the nurse expert in the hospital (without the primary care, NP, or educational, CNS, focus).

Good luck!!
