Last time I heard those words said to me was when the hostess at a local restaurant seated me...how degrading!! I would be ticked! Maybe they should have:

CNA______________

Then see how fast that gets thrown out! I would find out who's idea that was a give them a piece of my mind.

Now this is absolutely assinine and I would have let this administrator, who obviously needs more education in administration, know it wholeheartedly I love gwenith's idea and would have thrown those forms right in the trash in front of her/him.

Replace "servers" with "staff" (or simply the date as was mentioned before) and it's a great idea. I can only remember to write my name on the marker boards about half of the time. As long as it says "servers" though, make the most of it. I'd get a tip jar up at the nurses station. Maybe on the bottom of the "servers" sheet you could list what 10,15,20% tips would be like they do at restaurants to make it easy for the customers to know how much to put in the tip jar?

Wow. At least you know your place in the food chain so to speak. This type of crap strikes a nerve with nurses who spend 1+ years in college working towards a degree which is used to keep people alive; specifically it is an attack on one's pride. So yeah, if my education, my hard work, my time is going to be valued as much as a job which requires absolutely no education (other than the ability to read) I'd be a tad bit annoyed too. While you might very well work under very dense admin, the implications of server=health care worker can't be denied. And before I get flamed for belittling servers; I worked my way thru college in a restaurant, and am considering a return as a second job because I enjoy it so much.
I just couldn't last in an environment like this. I'd be unemployed within 5 seconds after the admin realizes I just told them to get bent.
